Fairbanks Nijhuis offers End Suction Pumps in a huge variety of sizes, materials of construction and designs. Useful in many types of commercial and (heavy) industrial applications, for fresh water, seawater or equivalents.
End suction pump also available in vertical configuration
The pumps are available in both horizontal and vertical configuration:
Applications
Configuration
The pumps are available in both horizontal and vertical configuration:
Impeller
The impeller design can be fully adapted to the kind of liquid to be pumped. By means of pressure-leveling holes,
the impeller is axially relieved. The impeller is fixed on the shaft cone, which is a great advantage with diesel
drive. The cone is designed to enable a very easy disengaging of the impeller.
Pump casing
The liquid velocities in the pump have been kept very low, which results in minimum wear. The flanges may be
drilled according to DIN or ASA standards. The pressure flange may be fitted in 4 positions with intervals of 90°.
The sealing between pump casing, suction cover and casing cover with stuffing box is obtained by “O”-rings.
Pump shaft
Standard pump design involves a ground stainless steel shaft, protected by a specially treated shaft sleeve, also
made of stainless steel. Pump shaft and bearings are enclosed in a ball bearing cartridge, which enables a very
quick replacement of the shaft and bearings unit. Moreover, this design enables an accurate axial adjustment
of the impeller, which is an advantage with open impellers, equipped with a wearing plate. The front bearing is
protected against the penetration of water by a rotating disk shaped water flinger.
Packing
The pump of standard design is equipped with an easily accessible stuffing box with split gland. Gland bolts and
nuts are made of stainless steel. Many different gland arrangements are possible. Moreover, simple and twin
mechanical seals can be built in.
